The Global Forest Biodiversity Initiative is “an international multi-stakeholder team of foresters and forest scientists”, their website provides loads of data and research on the global extinction crisis and its impacts on ecosystem functioning ie “everything is connected”. One of their findings is that if we plant 1.7 trillion trees we would go a long way to reducing atmospheric carbon and making our climate more stable
